One year, how many opponents did beaten up by Apple iPhone?

The Apple iPhone was released in 2007, we all know its leather a lot of people’s life. The Asymco Horace Dediu said Apple to grab 73 percent of industry profits with Samsung to divide up the smartphone market 99 percent of operating profit – which means the addition of dozens of smart phone manufacturers only to see Apple Samsung meat, own soup .

The VisionMobile According to 2012 developers ecological survey report (love the range of children for the report, Chinese partners) to draw a chart, comparing the first quarter of 2012 and the first quarter of 2011, Apple and competitors’ sales, income and the power of profit changes, with “dry turn” to describe the iPhone is not an exaggeration.

Three information map is incremental sales, revenue, profits, Apple is how to dry down competitors. It should be noted that VisionMobile, only statistics within a year of change (2011-2012); Imagine, if comparing 2012 and 2007, the contents of the information on the map will be even more shocking.

Apple’s Tim Cook rejects idea of laptop-tablet hybrids

Tim cook

Mr Cook said if Apple mixed its laptop and tablet designs it would end up with a compromised product

Apple’s boss has dismissed the idea of mixing laptops and tablets into a hybrid product.

Chief executive Tim Cook said the idea of combining the iPad and MacBook Air would “wind up compromising” both.

Rival Asus already markets such products in its Transformer series. Intel has also been a vocal advocate of the idea.

Mr Cook also said he hated litigation, signalling a willingness to settle patent disputes.

It comes after Apple reported its profits almost doubled in the first three months of the year and it sold 11.8 million iPads, 150% more than the same period last year.

Toaster-refrigerator hybrids

When asked if Apple planned to build a notebook that closed “in a clever way” to let it be used as a tablet, Mr Cook attacked the idea.

“Anything can be forced to converge,” he said in a conference call after the results, as transcribed by financial news website Seeking Alpha.

“But the problem is that products are about trade-offs, and you begin to make trade-offs to the point where what you have left at the end of the day doesn’t please anyone.

“You can converge a toaster and a refrigerator, but those things are probably not going to be pleasing to the user.

“We’re not going to that party… others might from a defensive point of view.”

The statements contrast with Intel’s vision of the future. The chipmaker makes the processors that power Mac computers, but not its tablets and phones.

Intel showed off a prototype laptop that converted into a tablet at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas in January. Earlier this week its PC business chief told the BBC it still believed the concept would prove popular with users of Microsoft’s next operating system.

“As touch become more ubiquitous across Ivy Bridge platforms you don’t need to carry both devices around,” said Kirk Skaugen.

Apple releases Safari 5.1.5 with minor bug fix

Image

Apple just released Safari 5.1.5 on its website and through Software Update, and it only contains a fix for a bug “that could affect website usability” when in 32-bit mode. The update follows a larger release earlier this month with Safari 5.1.4, which included a long list of Javascript, PDF, and HTML5 related security and performance improvements. In February, Apple rolled out Safari 5.2 for Lion to developers as part of the Mountain Lion preview. That release will likely be available to the public alongside Mountain Lion this summer.

Samsung’s Designer Denies the Allegations of Copying by Apple

Samsung’s mobile designer has spoken out about Apple’s accusations that the firm has copied its iPhone and iPad designs.

Lee Minhyouk, vice president of design at Samsung Mobile, admitted that he’s not quite on a par with Apple wunderkind Jonathan Ive, but fervently defended his original designs which include the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note.

Samsung Mobile’s vice president for design Lee Minhyouk takes Apple’s charges personally and denies the allegations:

“I’ve made thousands of sketches and hundreds of prototype products (for the Galaxy). Does that mean I was putting on a mock show for so long, pretending to be designing?”

“As a designer, there’s an issue of dignity. (The Galaxy) is original from the beginning, and I’m the one who made it. It’s a totally different product with a different design language and different technology infused.”

Lee admits that he may not be at the level of Apple’s VP for design Jonathan Ive, but believes Samsung “will produce such iconic products one day.”

"StickWars 2" Game Review

StickWars 2  was created by Pinger, is the sequel to the popular Stick Wars game. I was impressed by the first game so I thought I would check out the sequel. If you are unfamiliar with Stick Wars, it was a popular castle defense game in which you must protect your castle against a never-ending army of stickmen. For those who used to spend your days as kids drawing stick men or playing Hangman then this will especially touch your heart.

The concept is pretty straightforward. In this game you must protect your precious castle against hordes of angry stickmen bent on your destruction. The stickmen will be charging at you with different speeds from the right and you will be mainly using your finger as your main form of protection…

Killing stickmen is done by easily swiping at the screen. Another method is just pointing at a stickmen, dragging them into the sky and flicking at the other stickmen to kill them in groups.
You will also see archers, repairmen and wizards returning to this sequel. Let me briefly explain the three for those who have not played the original.

You will be using archers, repairmen and wizards to protect your castle. Archers and Wizards protect your castle by either spraying arrows or casting magic at the oncoming stickmen. Repairmen (depending on how many) will add hit points every few seconds. You will also be able to capture stickmen with the dungeon upgrade and can use these captured soldiers suicide bombers to protect your castle.

Just like the original game you will earn money as you progress in the game. Money is awarded for how you kill the stickmen and this money can be used to upgrade your castle. However employing repairman, archers and wizards will deduct from money you receive, so I suggest not really using them until you can’t handle it by yourself anymore.

As I mentioned above, you will mainly use your finger to pick up and kill the stickmen. Once you get up to the higher levels, you will find yourself frantically picking and throwing. Later on in the game, the stickmen will charge at you with catapults and battering rams with different speeds so it really adds to the franticness.

Aside from the new colors and graphics, I don’t really think that the sequel did much better from the first version. Usually developers learn from their mistakes in the first version and make the second bigger and badder, but this was not the case! There is really no end to the game, and after dying a few times in the higher levels I just gave up.

This game was initially fun in the beginning, so casual gamers might like this game. You can now enjoy this game at FREE now. Any people interesting on it?

Some Reviews of the Game (From Apple App Store):

Great game (FIVE STAR)

This game is awesome, but I still feel that it could use a few more upgrades. The upgrades that were added in the newest update really helped a lot! Keep upgrading the game and I am sure that more people will leave 5 star reviews and more people will certainly but this game!

Outstanding Sequel! (FIVE STAR)

The only thing worse than zombies? Flaming Zombies!

Updated version makes it easier to get to the “fun” levels without carpel tunnel syndrome 🙂

Rumor – iPad 2g is going to launch in February of Next Year?

Refering to digitimes report, Apple has asked Foxconn plant to provide the first 400,000 to 600,000 units of the next version of iPad, within 100 days, if it proves true, iPad 2 would arrive on the market by the end of February 2011.

According to sources in Digitimes , marketing of iPad 2 intended to start by the end of next January, just behind the Jobs keynote, but was postponed because of the firmware that is still in testing. In this case, therefore, it would be more like a delay due to a software problem rather than hardware.

As predicted by other rumors reported by Digitimes, the new iPad should not deviate too much from current version, but will make some improvements, such as the face time camera for “face timing” with other iOS devices, lighter device, an improved display and a gyroscope.

So, what do you think ipad 2g will improve?
